Visited for lunch and left feeling quite disappointed by both the value and overall experience. I ordered the fish soup, which was priced at $15 but came with only three small pieces of fish—hardly justifiable for the cost.
While we were seated by staff and the food was brought to our table, ordering was done through a QR code, and we still had to get our own cutlery. It’s unclear what the 10% service charge is meant to cover given the limited interaction and self-service elements.
The floor was also noticeably dirty, which affected the overall dining environment. I hope this feedback is helpful. With some adjustments to value, cleanliness, and service clarity, the experience could be significantly improved.

It was somewhat absurd that we had to wait about 35 minutes for three bowls of fish soup, even though the staff standing outside the kitchen didn't seem to have anything to do. We weren't sure where the bottleneck was. The fish soup itself was also nothing to shout about; the taste was quite normal. The fish portion in the regular bowl wasn't generous, though one of us who ordered the large bowl said there was a lot. The fried fish egg also looked completely different from the picture and was much smaller. We really cannot recommend this.

I came in the morning and there was no queue. (I had browsed previous comments and seen many issues with waiting.) Even so, there was still a slight wait of about 10-15 minutes. Food was good, so please come during non-peak hours!

I had the signature sliced fish soup, and the broth was clear but rich with natural sweetness, definitely not the MSG-heavy kind. The fish slices were fresh, firm, and generously portioned. They also offer options with fried fish or mixed varieties if you want something a bit heartier.
What stood out was the balance of flavors: light but satisfying, with just the right amount of pepper and preserved vegetables to enhance the broth.
The stall is clean and well-kept. Waiting time, however, is quite long for a fish soup, averaging 15 minutes. Prices are slightly premium compared to standard hawker stalls, but the quality justifies the cost.

Both the plain and Tom Yum soup bases were great. The Tom Yum soup stands out as it’s different from the typical food court and hawker versions that rely on paste. It has additional ingredients like lime and lemongrass that add depth to the flavour. The hand-torn mee hoon kueh is one of my favourite noodle choices. I also like the variety of fish options, including batang, red grouper, and fried fish. The garlic chilli is excellent too. I only waited around 10 minutes despite the store being full.

Very nice fish soup, and the garlic chilli goes very well with the fish. In fact, I'm quite puzzled why it has such a low rating on Google. This will be my go-to place in the West if I'm craving fish soup.

Hey, we're back here again at Ron Sheng Fish Soup at Plantation Plaza! Last time, when they first opened, the wait was crazy – almost an hour! But the food was awesome. I saw online that they fixed the wait times, and this time it was only 12 minutes – totally fine. The food was amazing. We'll definitely be back!

45 minutes, and still no food! Some of those who arrived earlier had also not been served yet.
After 55 minutes, the food came. It was delicious. I would return if they sort out the teething issues.
